50th Anniversary of MLK Jr.'s "I have a dream speech" on August 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. at City Hall. The HFD Honor Guard assisted with the nationwide "Let Freedom Ring" bell ringing event to affirm the unity of all people of all races, religions and nations.
 
During the week of July 7-13, 2013, 4 members of the HFD Honor Guard participated and supported the Memorial Services for the firefighters who were killed while battling a fast-moving wildfire near Yarnell, Arizona.
 
HFD at the Public Memorial Service for 4 Fallen HFD Members, June 2013 Line of Duty Public Memorial Service. In addition to supporting and participating in the individual services for the Four Fallen Firefighters (Captain Matthew Renaud, Engineer Operator Robert Bebee, Firefighter Robert Garner and Probationary Firefighter Anne Sullivan), the Houston Fire Department Honor Guard was a major participant of the Public Memorial Service on June 5, 2013 at the Reliant Stadium.
 
Honor Guard and Pipes and Drums Steak-Off Fund-raiser Event. The HFD Honor Guard cook Terry Vick (57A) won a fund-raiser competition on Saturday, May 4th at the Wal-Mart off Yale & I-10 after a Steak-off between the Honor Guard and the Pipes and Drums. Both groups benefited from the event.
 
HFD Honor Guard at the 2013 Annual Houston Firefighters Memorial Ceremony The Annual Houston Firefighters' Memorial Ceremony at the Houston Firefighters' Memorial Garden, 4225 Interwood N. Parkway. The Annual Ceremony is held to not only honor those members who have given the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty, but also every member, retired and active who is gone but never forgotten. This year's ceremony was held on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
   
HFD Honor Guard in 2012 Houston Parade 2012 City of Houston Veteran's Day Parade on November 11, 2012 in Downtown Houston. The Houston Fire Department Honor Guard was the only Fire Department represented in the Veteran's Day Parade on Sunday, November 11th in downtown Houston.
